“A feisty staging of Humperdinck’s opera…Northern Ireland Opera continues to punch above its weight” – The Independent on Sunday
First performed in Belfast in 2011, NI Opera’s acclaimed production of Humperdinck’s classic opera comes to Dublin’s Gaiety Theatre for three performances in November.
Based on the famous Brothers Grimm fairytale, the opera tells the story of two children who go into the mysterious woods to hunt for strawberries, but find more than they could possibly have imagined.
Ever since its first performance in December 1893, Hansel and Gretel has been associated with Christmas, so why not start this year’s festive season in style with a family opera full of great music, world-class singing, and plenty of fun!
NI Opera would like to thank the Arts Council of Ireland and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland for their support in helping to bring Hansel and Gretel to Dublin.
