14 November 2012 - 17 November 2012
Presented by Lyric Opera Productions
Verdi’s great masterpiece of love, war and revenge comes to the Gaiety Theatre in all its splendour with Lyric Opera’s first ever production of AIDA at this special venue.

Acclaimed Canadian soprano Yannick Muriel Noah plays the enslaved Aida, caught in a love triangle with the heroic Radamès, played by Michael Wade Lee and the proud and imperious Amneris, sung by Imelda Drumm.

Conflict and passion collide against a backdrop of a majestic land in turmoil. Verdi's music exquisitely conjours up the rolling Nile, the arid heat of the desert and the longing pain of secret love. This will be a feast of Verdian music, with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and an outstanding Irish and International cast.

From the vast Grand Scene “Gloria in Egito” to the much loved “Celeste Aida”, “Ritorna Vincitor” and the many beautiful duets throughout this story of passion and sacrifice, Aida is a brilliant balance of spectacular pageantry and emotional intimacy. With a world famous score played by the renowned RTE Concert Orchestra, and a chorus of 60 young Irish artists, this will be an evening of unmissable opera.

Aida is the grandest of Grand Opera
