Venue Facilities and information
Refreshments are available for purchase on both levels of the main foyer and in the bars before the performance and during the interval. Interval drinks may be ordered from our bar staff before the show begins. A pre-show order ensures you a private table.
Doors to the theatre open 30 minutes prior to the start of the performance. Half an hour is plenty of time to collect tickets, get a programme, buy a drink and catch your breath – before we take it away again.
Intervals vary with each show and occasionally there are none at all. Every effort will be made to admit latecomers as soon as a suitable break in the performance occurs but admission is not guaranteed.
For many patrons, attending a show at The Gaiety Theatre is a special occasion, but formal wear is not required. Attire generally varies from business to casual. But above all, we want you to feel comfortable.
The Gaiety Theatre is a smoke-free zone (Public Health (Tobacco Act), 2002) and smoking in any area of the building is strictly forbidden. Patrons may wish to use the front entrance of The Gaiety at the main foyer doors.
The use of cameras or audio and video recording equipment is strictly prohibited. Please ensure that all mobile phones, pagers and alarms are switched off before entering the auditorium.
The acoustics of our theatre are such that talking or whispering during a performance is likely to be heard on stage. This is often distracting to the actors. Please refrain from talking during the performance.
We strongly advise that children under the age of two should not be admitted except for children’s shows as advised by our Box Office staff.
Please leave the following information with your sitter or service, so we can quickly locate you in the event of an emergency. Your seat location; Section, Row & Seat Number.
